Cindy Lemus
Cindy Lemus is a visual artist from the Yakima Valley in Washington. She specializes in painting but enjoys a variety of mediums. Cindy is a K-5 visual art educator in a public school on the Yakama Reservation. She was born and raised in the district where she now teaches, and she works to give back to the community that helped her grow. Her parents were born and raised in Michoacán, Mexico, and came to the US to follow the American Dream. Her parents raised her to embrace her culture, which has been one of the biggest inspirations for her artwork. She hopes to share the pride in who she is with her students in hopes that they will feel empowered to share and celebrate who they are.
