I work primarily in oil paints, charcoal and mixed media 2D art. My work is rooted in realism and storytelling. The themes explored range from spiritual and symbolic to representing the simpler things in life. I like to create subtle textures through brushwork or by combining different mediums together. These patterns and strokes have significance to the overall theme of the picture. I draw inspiration from the moments and places of everyday life, through a subject matter ranging from still lifes, interiors to portraits and family life. Becoming a mother of two has influenced me to explore the now and the beauty and struggle of everyday life.
