Chino Gonzales (Bonnet Black) and Merri Ann Osborne (Mahogany Project) present PLAY TIME: an Arts Game Show.

Play Time is a new interactive and multigenerational game show series where audience members compete through different art games to collect the most points.

Play Time was developed to pay homage to the vast contributions made by artists and creatives from the African Diaspora and create space for our communities to play and learn at the same time.

Join us for the debut of Play Time, Sunday, May 21 from 12-1 PM in the Theater at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute with your host, America’s favorite comedian, Armani Jones.

Put your dance moves to the test in Name That Dance, create a song in a genre of your choice using 3 random words suggested by the opposing team in Jammin Artists, compete with other teams in an improv themed game led by guest artist Issiah Harris and learn about creative pioneers from the past and present in our bonus round, Ancestor Appreciation.

Anyone can play, regardless of their background in the arts. The main goal is to get together, build community, and have some fun.

Since this is a new production, there will be digital and physical feedback forms available. Your feedback is appreciated.

ASL interpreters will be available.
This event will not be recorded.
