Heidi Grace Acuña
Heidi Grace Acuña (they/she) is a Filipinx-American interdisciplinary visual artist from O'ahu, Hawai'i who grew up witnessing her immigrant parents’ hard work and compassion as they cared for adults with intellectual disabilities. Heidi creates dimensional works in ceramics, printmaking, photography, and textiles. In 2022, Heidi received the Edwin T. Pratt Scholarship and had their first solo show (LUSH) at Western Washington University. Heidi’s ceramic work has been published in the Licton Springs Review Literary Arts Magazine, is part of the North Seattle College Permanent Art Collection, and will be exhibited in a concurrent group show (Distribuqueery
) at the 2023 NCECA Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Heidi has provided artist talks and demonstrations for their sustainable, genderless, clothing brand, Hybrid Honey. Regardless of the medium, their work addresses community, culture, diversity, identity, gender, and mental health. Heidi received their AA in English and Art from North Seattle College and BA in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from University of Washington with a minor in Art History. Heidi lives and works in Seattle with plans to open an art community center on O’ahu.
