ACES // Artists of Color Expo & Symposium is a BIPOC-led, community-curated program featuring art exhibitslive performancespresentationsworkshopsfilm screeningsartist talksartist opportunity tables and art marketWe are coming together with intentionality to value our work and see one another as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.

ACES 2023 is a hybrid event, presented online and in person.

Amália Couto
Born in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Amália Couto began her artistic career in theater and was a professional stage actress in Brazil before moving to England where she continued her career in the performing arts. After moving to Seattle Amália earned a BA in drama at the University of Washington. Currently, Amália is a full time practicing artist and her work has been exhibited throughout Seattle and hangs in private collections around the country. Amália is a Phase 1 Seattle Restored Participant and Phase 2 Seattle Restored Application Review Panelist. Amália’s work has been featured on The Seattle Times article, “Artist spread out in the ‘gourmet’ space at Magnuson Park” and on New Day NW on King 5.
